Justin Bateman: Literature for Littles
Justin knows the importance of literacy, and he wanted to give back to an organization that promotes literacy in our community. Justin hosted a book drive and donated over 80 books to the Ozarks Literacy Council.
Deanna Bergren: DiverseCity
Deanna created an event to celebrate cultures across the globe. Her night represented 13 different cultures and included over 30 presenters. Students were able to celebrate with and connect to cultures they may not have known about otherwise.
Emma Hampton: Belle’s Boutique
Emma created Belle’s Boutique to give all students an equal opportunity to experience school dances without being held back by financial restraints. Belle’s Boutique gave free formal wear and dance tickets to deserving students.
Reese Hill: Leadership in Wrestling
Reese hosted a middle school wrestling camp to help student athletes recognize valuable leadership skills and opportunities that are afforded to those who participate in sports.
Kristen Klein: We’re ALL in this for Alzheimer’s
Kristen created a brochure to help the Alzheimer’s Association better promote their “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event and to raise awareness, funds, and more volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association.
Alanna Mangum: Knowledge for College
Alana created an event to help high school juniors understand and clarify the college application process. Her event was hosted twice, both at Central and Parkview High Schools.
Katelyn Roberts: Stop the Silence
Katelyn wanted to give students the skills to protect themselves. She hosted a self defense class at Parkview High School to help students feel empowered in helpless situations.
Samuel Stillie: Painting It Forward
Sam created an Instagram page devoted to spreading positive messages. He also gathered a team of students who created chalk art around Springfield to inspire our community.
Elay’jiah Toliver: Any “Body” Can Dance
Elay’jiah created a middle school dance night where girls danced with the Parkview Vikettes during a basketball game. This event encouraged a community of support between the girls and promoted body confidence.
Johnny Tran: Feast for a Friend
Johnny’s project focused on a local organization, Haven of the Ozarks, a no-kill animal shelter. His project collected food and toys for the animals awaiting adoption.
Thuan Tran: Connecting through Basketball
Thuan worked with the Special Education Department to host a basketball tournament and to connect with students.
Daniel Walker: Breakfast for the Brave
Daniel’s project focused on raising money for an organization that helps disabled veterans. Daniel hosted a breakfast for Parkview students and was able to raise 303.00 for the Disabled American Veterans.
Cheyenne White: Harvesting Hope
Cheyenne’s goal was to give back to an organization that directly impacts the Springfield community. Cheyenne arranged three separate events and donated 517.00 dollars to the Ozarks Food Harvest.
